From: Sp1 is involved in H2O2-induced PUMA gene expression and apoptosis in colorectal cancer cells
PFT-α and Mithr.A decreased H 2 O 2 -induced apoptosis in a mitochondrial pathway. (A) LoVo cells were treated with PFT-α (20 μM), Mithr.A (200 ng/ml) an hour before H2O2 (0.64 mM) was added. Hoechst dye 33258 was used to detect apoptosis (* represents significance p < 0.05, # represents significance p > 0.05). (B) LoVo cells were treated with PFT-α (20 μM), Mithr.A (200 ng/ml) an hour before H2O2 (0.64 mM) was added. Total extracts were then prepared and assayed for the level of the protein by immunoblot. Similar results were observed in two separate experiments.
