- NF-κB expression was measured by quantitating the luminescence intensity in regions of interest (ROI) using Living Image® 3.0 software (Caliper Life Sciences, Inc. Hopkinton, MA). (*) ROI values include +/- standard error (n = 3-4) obtained using Living Image Software version 3.0. ROI values are equal in the mice pre-treated with vehicle or TQ showing TQ has no effect on NF-κB expression. 3 hrs after LPS injection ROI values representing NF-κB expression are much lower in mice pre-treated with TQ at 5 and 20 mg/kg though not statistically significant (P < 0.10) as compared to control suggesting pre-treatment with TQ suppresses NF-κB expression. ROI return to baseline at 24 hrs in both groups.
