An increased level of lncRNA SNHG15 is associated with TMZ resistance by way of increasing CDK6/SOX-2 expression; in parallel, GBM promotes M2 polarization of microglia via secretion of pro-inflammatory cytokines, IL-10, IL-13, CCL2, etc. M2 microglial cells subsequently promotes GBM proliferation/survival via secretion of TGF-β and IL-6. Palbociclib inhibits CDK6 and could in turn decreases the level of SNHG15 and increases the tumor suppressor, miR-627-5p, leading to GBM vulnerable to TMZ treatment
