 A schematic diagram illustrates the potential mechanisms by which ZIP13 promotes the metastasis of ovarian cancer. ZIP13 is located in the Golgi apparatus and regulates the intracellular distribution of zinc, which affects the expressions of genes involved in ECM organization and cytokine-mediated signaling pathway. This enable the activation of the Src/FAK pathway and downstream signaling cascade, thereby leading to the induction of targeted genes involved in cell invasion and tumour metastasis
