Wortmannin inhibits HIF-1a expression in NSCLC and SCLC cells following 47 °C heat treatment. NCI-H1650-b and NCI-H446-b sublines are cultured to 80-90 % confluence and exposed to hypoxia. a NCI-H1650-b and NCI-H446-b sublines are pretreated with different concentrations of wortmannin exposed to 1 % oxygen. HIF-1a protein expression level is measured by Western blot. b The result of semi-quantitative analysis show that with increasing concentrations of wortmannin, HIF-1a expression in the NCI-H1650-b and NCI-H446-b cell sublines decreased gradually (* p < 0.05 between different groups)
