ATL inhibits the expression of COX-2. a: We first observed the expression of COX-2 in four nerve tumor cell lines by Western blotting assays. b: At 48 h after treatment, the expression levels of the COX-2 protein and mRNA were detected by Western blotting and RT-PCR, respectively, in U87 and U251 cells. c: The two cell types were pretreated with the COX-2-selective inhibitor celecoxib (CB, 60 μM and 120 μM)) for 8 h and then treated with ATL (20 μM). After 48 h, cell viability was observed using MTT analysis. All data are presented as the mean ± SD of three independent experiments (*P < 0.05, **P < 0.01 vs. the DMSO vehicle control groups)
