Effect of Andro on caspase-dependent apoptosis. MDA-MB-231 and MCF-7 cells were treated with Andro at the indicated doses for appropriate time. a The apoptosis was determined in MDA-MB-231 cells by a FACS analysis after treatment for 24 h or 48 h, and the percentage of apoptotic cells was calculated. b-c MDA-MB-231 cells were treated with Andro at the indicated doses for 24 h. The releasing process of cytochrome c from mitochondria to cytoplasm was observed by immunofluorescence imaging analysis (b). And the expression of the cleaved caspase-3/9 and Bcl-2/Bax proteins were analyzed by Western blot (c). Data were represented as the mean ± S.D. of at least three independent experiments.
